No kidding! I haven't quite worked out how to write in a way that the academy will accept; my committee doesn't even agree yet. I did find getting my ethics app (here an institutional review board app) through was easier when I explained a lot (read: 2 pages) about the method and including many, many references to other studies. Maybe they just believe my advisor would vouch for me. Who knows?

its a dilemma i share, sigh. Getting through an ethics application; presuming that in advance you will know who you will include, for how long you will talk and how often. Plus preempting the study to declare in advance what you might presume to find, and then there's purpose - a descriptive account.... and still to write it in a way that the academy will accept....I wish you well in your endeavour
